Susan Sontag stated “photography is a form of nostalgia, an attempt to connect with a passing reality and to gain custody of it.” Whether or not you agree, there is no denying the visual dependency our culture is immersed in. A photograph, whatever it depicts, is a major anecdote in social fractures and within it holds the capacity to reveal more than words may every describe or tell. In many cases, it’s not the subject matter that is relevant, but more so the story it tells and how it reaches all of the senses of the viewer.  A photograph begins a conversation.  What visual discourse are you having with your audience?
